Taxvie — Complete manual filing tutorial (official government TEST systems) [00:00] Prepare company accounts and Corporation Tax with Taxvie. We will enter the figures manually for a fictional small business. This is a sandbox demonstration: the final submissions go to government test systems. Start with the company details. For your own business, check the registered name, company number and registered office against Companies House. [00:26] Here we create a fresh fictional company, keeping earlier demonstrations untouched. Formation details and business activities help identify the company whose accounts you are preparing. [01:12] Choose the financial year these accounts cover. Our example runs from the first of January to the thirty first of December, twenty twenty four. Check that the newly created period is selected before entering any figures. Select the full accounts profile and review the company information. [01:38] This demonstration uses the existing platform test arrangement. A real filing needs the company’s correct tax details and filing authorisation. Choose manual accounts preparation. We are entering the figures ourselves; we will not import a spreadsheet. The profit and loss account shows income and costs over the year. Enter sales of one hundred and twenty thousand [02:05] pounds, cost of sales of thirty five thousand, and administration costs of forty three thousand, nine hundred and fifty. These leave profit before tax of forty one thousand and fifty pounds. [03:03] Enter the accounts tax charge of seven thousand, eight hundred pounds, then save the draft to refresh the calculated totals. Profit before tax is forty one thousand and fifty pounds. Profit after tax is thirty three thousand, two hundred and fifty. [03:29] The balance sheet shows the position at the year end. Enter equipment and other tangible assets, money owed by customers, prepayments and cash at bank. These are closing balances, rather than the year’s sales or spending. [04:47] Enter twelve thousand, five hundred pounds of creditors due within one year. These are amounts the company still owes. Leave categories with no balance at zero. [05:15] Enter share capital of one hundred pounds and accumulated profit and loss reserves of sixty three thousand, six hundred and fifty. Reserves include earlier years, so they need not equal this year’s profit. Net assets and shareholders’ equity should both be sixty three thousand, seven hundred and fifty pounds. [05:50] The balance check compares net assets with total equity. In our example, both are sixty three thousand, seven hundred and fifty pounds. Review any difference before continuing. Confirm who approved the accounts and when. We use a fictional director for this demonstration. Review the responsibility and audit statements carefully; your own answers [06:14] must match the company’s circumstances. [06:41] Complete the supporting notes and employee information that apply to the business. Check the accounting basis and disclosures instead of accepting assumptions without reviewing them. Review the Corporation Tax calculation and any adjustments that apply. For this example, the tax payable is seven thousand, seven [07:08] hundred and ninety nine pounds and fifty pence. The accounts show the rounded charge of seven thousand, eight hundred pounds. Review both amounts in their proper places. [07:37] Save and validate the accounts. Review any errors or warnings and resolve them before filing. Confirm the balance sheet agrees and the director and approval details are complete. [08:01] Prepare the filing documents and review them against the figures you entered. The accounts show the rounded tax charge of seven thousand, eight hundred pounds. The tax computation shows seven thousand, seven hundred and ninety nine pounds and fifty pence payable. Documents must pass all checks before filing. [08:37] This demonstration is using the official Companies House test route. Confirm test filing is selected before submitting. Send the accounts once, then wait for the actual response. Preparation alone does not mean a filing has been accepted. Next, confirm the official HMRC test route and submit the Corporation Tax return once. Keep the acknowledgement and follow the [09:04] status until the receiving system reports the outcome. Do not submit again simply because processing takes time. [09:38] Both test filings now show Accepted. Keep the receipts and the documents for your records. This completes our sandbox example of preparing company accounts and a Corporation Tax return manually in Taxvie. Note: The demonstration uses fictional business information and official government TEST submissions. No live company submission is depicted.
